PEARL and PHOENIX pedigree goes back to some of
our Topbrass original "Field Trial Greats" that have produced
outstanding retrievers for three decades. The pedigree includes our all
time great "COTTON"
and his son Wraith's Duncan - both outstanding producers. PHOENIX is also
sired by one of our favorite goldens, FC Cedarpond
Brasdor Skywalker OS (Luke). "Luke"
hunted until 12 years of age. This breeding is a line breeding on Luke's
sire - FTCH AFTCH Shurmark's Split Decision MH OS FDHF.
This is a repeat breeding. The 1st litter just
turned three in January. All are doing great as hunters and Competitors.
Topbrass Key CDX from that litter has 20 plus High in Trials already. Another is running Qualifyings and another is a first class professional drug detection dog. They are all very stylish, agile competitors with the right ingredients to shine.
We have repeated the PEARL and PHOENIX breeding
in hopes of producing that elusive "Competitive Field Trial Golden".
The breeding excels in working ability and should produce talented working
retrievers capable of holding up to the pressure of daily training and trialing.
Both PEARL and PHOENIX also have pleasing temperaments, making them ideal
family members as well as capable competitors. PEARL now lives with a family
with 2 kids where she is a cherished pet and companion to the children.PEARL has an OFA Good hip rating and is dark gold
in color with a short dense coat. She has a classic golden personality and
a wonderful working attitude. Both PEARL and PHOENIX are tested clear for the prcd/PRA gene.
PHOENIX is a sound, good looking golden male with
a pleasing head and expression, excellent conformation and stable temperament.
Phoenix's sire was an outstanding producer with multiple titled offspring
in obedience and field. He was still used for hunting at 12 years of age.
PHOENIX is well known for his field prowess. He
turns heads wherever he competes. On top of that he should produce the type
of golden pups that we are after - bold, sensible, but crazy to retrieve
pups that love to train. There is a list of some of his offspring at the
following LINK.He has offspring with All Age points, Qualified All age, and on the National Derby list as well.
PHOENIX is the spitting image of his father. He
is Bev Burns' first field trial dog and qualified and ran the
National Amateur Retriever Championship in Batavia, NY in 2004.
He only needs a few points for his Field Title.
We assume that we will get
strong, healthy, competitive pups from this breeding. This litter will be the perfect combination for
intelligent, attractive working retrievers, capable of field trial and hunt
test competition as well as being livable family members. In other words,
IDEAL RETRIEVERS.
