ABBEY and RUGBY'S pedigree goes back to some of Topbrass original "Field Trial Greats" that have produced outstanding retrievers for three decades. Some of the greats in Abbey's pedigree include FC AFC Stony-Brook's Jersey Devil - national finalist and deceased at almost 15 years of age, Shurmark's Split Decision - deceased at 15 plus years of age, and Dual Ch Tigathoe's Funky Farquar - one of the few goldens to ever become a National Derby Champion. ABBEY & RUGBY'S pedigree also includes our all time great "COTTON" and his son Wraith's Duncan - both outstanding producers. ABBEY and RUGBY have been bred in hopes of producing "Competitive Field Trial Goldens". The breeding excels in working ability and should produce talented working retrievers capable of holding up to the pressure of daily training and trialing. Both ABBEY and RUGBY also have pleasing temperaments, making them ideal family members as well as capable competitors. ABBEY is a fully trained field trial bitch. She became Qualified Open All age with back to back Qualifying wins and a 2nd place at 26 months of age. We anticipate that this litter will carry on many of her positive traits. ABBEY has all the usual health clearances required in our Topbrass Breeding Program, and is medium gold in color with a short dense coat. She is one of our favorite bitches with a classic golden personality and a wonderful working attitude. RUGBY is well known for his field prowess. He turns heads wherever he competes. RUGBY is a very attractive, well-bred, structurally sound male. On top of that he should produce the type of golden pups that we are after - bold, sensible, but crazy to retrieve pups that love to train. This litter will be the perfect combination for intelligent, attractive working retrievers, capable of field trial and hunt test competition as well as being livable family members. Kim Draeger & David Delgado will raise the ABBEY puppies in San
Pedro, California. Jackie Mertens is responsible for marketing and placement
of pups and they are being sold under the OUR puppies are carefully raised in the home environment and socialized accordingly. They are individually stimulated daily for maximum potential. Due to these procedures, the puppies readily accept new and varied distractions and stimuli in the environment around them. Our puppies enjoy individual "play exercises", and are introduced to retrieving by this method. We encourage the new owners of all our Topbrass puppies to continue "motivational training" through PUPPY CLASSES to ensure an easy transition from our environment to their new homes. Pups brought up in this manner mature into well adjusted adults. Before leaving Topbrass, our puppies are wormed, have their dew claws removed, are given their first shots, and are examined by our veterinarian for overall health and soundness. We test and evaluate our puppies using procedures outlined by various behavioral psychologists, in addition to individual methods that we have developed over the past 35 years to determine the temperament and potential of each pup. In addition to the above, we have a Puppy Support Program available to Topbrass Retriever owners. |
